Overview

Brandzooka (brandzooka.com) is looking for a Chief Technology Officer (CTO) to join our growing team. The ideal candidate has a strong passion for building and growing technology teams within fast-growing software companies, facilitating process, and bridging the gaps between business needs and technology. This position will focus on working with our development team, while working on strategic communication and alignment across the rest of the organization (across product, design, media, sales, marketing, & finance teams). You have an eye to quality and consistency when it comes to building product. You will report directly to the company’s CEO. We are looking for someone with experience growing product and development teams who enjoys and thrives in startup environments but who has led teams through significant growth and scale. You enjoy working with and seeing the big picture, but also love to dive in at the tactical level and get your hands dirty.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Evaluate technologies to manage complexity, increase business agility and evolve the technical platform to align with changing business strategy, growth and future needs while improving overall business processes and gaining efficiencies.

  • Help set the vision for technology development and growth, ensuring that the technological resources meet short and long-term needs of the business.

  • Provide leadership with an appetite and energy for moving things forward at a rapid pace of growth, while ensuring that practices in place are setting the business up for long-term success.

  • Provide direction and leadership to development and product team members to design, implement and revise the required architectural structure to meet the business’s current and future needs.

  • Align the company’s technology resources with the organization’s short- and long-term goals.

  • Oversee and own product development and roadmapping.

  • Provide timely communication to leadership regarding current projects, aligning to future business needs, problem resolution, technology budgets, timeframes, and other status updates.

  • Work across the company and with leadership to align on business priorities, needs, and trajectory.

  • Consult and advise the CEO and business leadership on technology needs, challenges, and opportunities.

  • Create and oversee high-level KPIs for development and product teams.

  • Continually evaluate business and technology opportunities, identify best practices, and implement as appropriate to drive continuous improvement.

  • Assess, identify, recruit, and retain talent to grow technical expertise on current programs and build talent for future program proposals and execution.

  • Understand the end users and the market and help to develop a vision for the product.

  • Collaborate with members across the company to understand and spearhead mapping product features and roadmap.

  • Performs other job-related duties as assigned.

Your Skills & Experience

  • Strong full spectrum leadership skills. These are essential for setting a vision and working across the business collaboratively to align, build, and drive strategic growth strategies.

  • You’re a proven collaborative executive who is able to drive successful change throughout an organization..

  • Experience in building and managing a team of developers.

  • Detailed knowledge of the software development life cycle.

  • Experience working in agile/scrum development processes and lean methodology.

  • Experience building and managing SaaS software with solid foundations in designing software architecture and infrastructure.

  • Care about designing highly functional systems with an emphasis on top notch UI/UX.

  • 10+ years of experience leading development teams.

  • Knowledge/ experience within the ad tech space is an added plus, but not required.

Our team is based in Boulder, CO. We are open to remote applicants, but some travel to Boulder, CO would be required.

Compensation

  • Salary: Starting at $200K+
